• It seems to be a recent issue; Really Simple CAPTCHA images are broken. It seems to be a caching issue, WP Super Cache is attempting to serve old CAPTCHA images that are broken.

Has anyone experienced issues similar to this? I have read else where that people are exempting contact pages using WP Super Cache features, however this is not ideal (Since this effects a multi-site installation i.e. redundant).

  • I was recently having some problems with Really Simple CAPTCHA and I think it may have been fixed by updating WP Super Cache. I’ll update if that was not indeed the case.

What I did was clear the all the cache and set the Expiry Time & Garbage Collection to Timer – with 3600 second intervals (60 minutes) – it seemed to solved the issue? I have checked forms periodically and haven’t seen any issues so far… Unless the client or a user see’s the issue before me I may be golden… Still iffy though, keeping an eye out in case.

Updating the plugin seems to be all I needed to do, but I’m guessing it cleared the cache when I updated, so maybe the clear was all that needed to happen.
