[Theme: Portfolio Press] Resizing Thumbnails

Has anybody had any luck resizing the thumbnails? I’ve tried it, but the “container” for the thumbnail doesn’t resize, only the image, so if you make the image too big the thumbnails run over each other, and if you make them too small, it leaves a black rectangle on the right side of the image.
