Support » Localhost Installs » Moving from 32-bit to 64-bit system?

  • I’m currently using WAMP (32 bit) to self-host my WP blog on Windows 7. However, I am in the process of replacing the 32-bit machine with a shiny new 64-bit one. The new machine will have the same network config (IP address, DNS Servers, etc.,) and directory structure as the old one.

My question is how to I migrate my WP blog to the new system.

So far, I’ve installed WAMP (64 bit) with no trouble, but at this point I’m not sure what to do. I know I’ll have to recreate the DB tables, populate the records, copy over the wp files, etc, but…

Is there a straightforward way of doing all this? A migration tool of sorts?

    Thanks, in advance,

    Michael
