Apart from being in permanent HTML hell (it’s not poetry to me, I have a lot of text to add in a lot of Albums and it takes me twice as long to add HTML) I now have a huge HTML problem.

After the last update to 4.5.4, my HTML isn’t functioning for 16 albums, some having 20 photos or more in each album. It is as if I didn’t do HTML. And it was done and it was working.

I have found if I add an
    </p>
    </br><p></p>
    </br><p>
I can make a paragraph. And half of that gets my photo credits
    on separate lines.

But it will be too time-consuming to go over all the 16 albums again, which will mean over 2,000 functions. And I know there is a better way because it was working.

How can I get my 16 albums, and any new ones I may add text to, to function with
the simpler HTML they used to work with?
    </p><p>

I work on a Mac, and need instructions like for a baby – I’m not very technical.

You didn’t respond to me about 2 posts I made 4 months ago, they are just sitting on this forum unanswered, so I hope you will respond to this urgent request. I love your Albums but am most unhappy with this latest setback.

If you don’t give us an Edit function, however simple, I am never get my website Live so I do hope you are nearer to doing this?????? I have a special and unusual website, it is my life’s work and legacy. Help.

PS – I checked what you said should be checked from a previous user’s post on a similar subject – and it is checked.

I really need a link to the site, and the litteral text of a photo description that does not work. Also i need a precise description of how it should appear. Do you know what your previous wppa rev was? or how long ago you did the previous update?

Thank you for fast response, much appreciated. I can’t give you the site link on a forum because it is not Live yet. It is a work in progress, under construction still.

Can we please communicate by email? I have all the details, desktop photos but I cannot have them on a Forum yet.

Further info. It was IX, Item 4, which is checked, to Allow HTML. Tag balance checked.

New development. Text for one photo, on the Dashboard, is not now on the Menu. I have tried deleting it, then adding it again, and it still doesn’t appear on the Menu. Although the ones next door to it are there…

Please help me with this – I am spending so much time on this instead of adding content and text, which I need to do a lot more of before I can go Live.

    Thank you.

PS – I don’t know what the previous revision was. The last upgrade was 2 or 3 days ago and the one before was, I think but not sure, in mid-April by the past administrator. I hadn’t looked at the menus and haven’t done text for that period so not sure when I lost the html texts on the menu.

Disappointed not to have heard from you. HTML still not working, except as above, which I understand is not the correct HTML for a website.

There is another reason I don’t want to post on this forum. I didn’t want to mention it yesterday, but you may want to know!

So, please, send me an email – as soon as possible – so I can give state my problem
    to you precisely.

    Please help.

I am having the same problem. I am new to WordPress (I am a Drupal developer) and am trying to help a friend out with her site. Everything is up to date and Allow HTML in album and photo descriptions is checked.

It used to work but, not anymore.

<div style="font-size: 12px; color: rgb(255, 255, 255); font-weight: normal; padding: 3px; width: 100%; text-align: left; visibility: visible;" class="wppa-fulldesc imagedesc" id="imagedesc-1"> BIKER TRIP HAIR “The hair was intentionally chaotic! Looks like the tags are just not being generated at all.
Link to site & page with above code…

    Thanks in advance,

Yes, I checked a previous post and you said something about putting html inside back quotes. Is that still the case?
For example, to put in a new paragraph in the description, do you need to do the following:

    ..paragraph

    or the following?
    <br>
    ….paragraph

    Any help would be appreciated.

    kepenner…

FYI… Back quotes are for posting “Code” in the WordPress forum.

    Example:
<p>I wish I could get HTML working in wppa descriptions</p>

    🙂

    “Put code in between backticks.”

Thanks, infinitee. Something you wrote above “…Allow HTML in album and photo descriptions is checked….” reminded me I had not checked that off. I did, and now it works fine. Granted, I’m only using italics, line breaks, bold etc. but that simple HTML, at least, works fine now.

Do you have to install the TinyMCE plugin for wppa? I can’t seam to find it anywhere.

Go to your wordpress dashboard/plugins/add new and search for TinyMCE. It’s there. Here’s the homepage: http://www.tinymce.com/i18n/index.php?ctrl=lang&act=download&pr_id=1

But no, you don’t need it for wppa. In fact, you don’t use it when you type in the descriptions. It’s only for when you are actually editing wordpress text pages.

Thanks kepenner, that’s what I thought. Do you have any ideas as to why HTML would not be working in the wppa descriptions? The site does not have many other plugins installed so, I don’t think there are any conflicts from WP or plugins.

Not a clue…but double check that ‘allow HTML in photo descriptions’ has a check mark beside it.

allow HTML in photo descriptions is enabled.

Then the only other idea I have would be to disable every other plug-in and try it after you’ve done that.
