• Hello,

I accidentally deleted the home page for my site. Now, when you first navigate to the site, it pulls up the whole site, but the main area says “404 Page Not Found”.

I tried creating a new home page, but it automatically populated with a different URL (added “/?page_id=397” to the end. How do I make this my real home page?

Better yet, is it possible to make my blog the home page?

    Thanks!

  • Go to your dashboard > Settings > Reading

Under “Front Page Displays” it’s probably got the “A static page” option selected. If that’s the case, change it to “Your latest Posts” and save the changes.

This will revert you to having blog posts as the home page.

I’m having a similar problem: On the Admin side, I have ONE “Home” page and that’s the page I want to be my Home page. However, when I go to my actual site, it shows TWO “Home” tabs one of which is the one I created and want and the other which appears to be the original Home page that came with the installation (when I do a Post it shows up here). How do I make MY “Home” page the real Home page? And why are both “Home” pages not showing up in the All Pages list?

In your dashboard: Appearance > Menus you can create a custom menu that contains only the tabs and in the order you want them. Once you’ve got that set, you select the menu you just created under “Theme Locations” Primary Navigation.
