[Plugin: Jetpack by WordPress.com] Contact form is incorrectly printing a link tag at the top of my
-
So, this is pretty well something I wrote in the Grunion Contact Form section. Now that future development is happening in the Jetpack version, I’ll bump it over here.
In short, if I use get_the_content() with a post containing a contact form, a big ugly <link> tag is printed directly to the document. That is bad. In my case, the tag ends up at the very top of the document, before my doctype declaration. That makes well behaved browsers cry.
(It behaves this way on my site because my theme gathers data in one operation then sends it to Smarty to be rendered).I fixed this on my end by editing jetpack/modules/contact-form/grunion-contact-form.php. I simply changed
wp_print_styles( 'grunion.css' );
towp_enqueue_style( 'grunion.css' );
You can see that working at http://www.dylanmccall.com/contact/. (Note the link to grunion.css is in the footer).Of course, a custom fix like that is a pain to maintain. I would love to see a fix land upstream 🙂
