Hi mellabee,
I’m not too sure I’ve understood the question but if the vertical menu is being added by a widget, why not just remove the widget?
Please clarify
Hi Kakoma,
I like the vertical widget menu.
In between the header image and the body content there are 6 black bullet points with white type which forms the horizontal menu bar.
This is the bit I want to move.
Additionally when the site is viewed from a iphone the vertical menu appears to have black bullets outside of the blue vertical menu. I’m not sure why this is.
Any advice greatly appreciated!
start by creating a child theme of Twenty Eleven to work with – http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes
why don’t you remove the full <nav id="access" role="navigation">
section from header.php?
If you may want to use the menu later, through Admin > Appearance > Menu, you can just disable the munu unless the Primary “Template Location” location is set.
Create the child theme and copy header.php across to the child themes folder.
Find:
<?php wp_nav_menu( array( 'theme_location' => 'primary' ) ); ?>
Add an empty ” callback_cb instead of the default which is ‘pages’
<?php wp_nav_menu( array( 'theme_location' => 'primary', 'fallback_cb' => '' ) ); ?>

Thanks for all your help.
The problem was in the appearance > menus section. I had Primary menu set to nothing. I created a blank “blank” menu and its done the trick.
Except for the bullets on the vertical menu. But I can live with those unless anyone knows how to remove the bullets from the menu?
