• Hello.

While editing both of my sites, I saw that nearly ALL of my threads are in search indexes because I put my site links in them. I honestly didn’t know that would happen. Not that I’m ashamed or anything but I would rather prefer for when clients/customers search for my site they won’t see EVERYTHING I’ve done. I don’t want to delete my threads, as I’m sure they have been helpful to others, but can I just delete the links from each one?
Also, how can I delete the link in my code from pastebin? I posted my code there first, because I was advised to do so, to put my code on the thread; I certainly didn’t know ALL of my css, including links would show to the world.

How can I delete these links? Help please! Thank you!

If you mean threads here at the WordPress.ORG forums, as a matter of policy threads aren’t edited.

    http://codex.wordpress.org/Forum_Welcome#Deleting_.2F_Editing_Posts

It is not the general policy to edit or delete forum posts. When a post is made and people contribute answers to an issue, that then becomes part of the community resource for others to benefit from and deleting posts removes this added value. In extreme circumstances, members of the moderation team might be persuaded to remove sensitive information that has been included in posts accidentally – but your best course of action is not to publish anything that you wouldn’t want to be public. (Remember too that other sites take archive copies of the forums, and we can do nothing to control that.)

If there is an extreme case for example someone posting your confidential personal data, then that would be done. But what you’ve described isn’t extreme or even really bad per se.

As for pastebin.com, if you signed up for an account created a paste while logged in then you can delete it yourself.

I don’t know if anonymous pastes can be deleted, best to look at their FAQ.

Thank you for your response Jan. Now that I’m reading the policy I do understand, but the problem is that I am working for someone and they are extremely angry that their sites are showing in the search. I didn’t realize it was until I was contacted and told that all of the threads were showing in the search engine. No, they are not threatening to kill me nor is anyone posting personal info that I know of, but they are upset that one could search their sites and everything pops up. They feel it looks very unprofessional for their business and I honestly cannot argue with that. I am not asking for the threads to be removed. I am only asking for the links to the site to be removed, that’s it. Can you please make an exception this once and I will know next time?
