How to edit add to a category on the Edit post page?

I’d like to be able to add a post to a category as soon as create the post, instead of having to first save the post, then go to the categories menu, identify my post, and add it to a category. Is it possible to add a category in the Edit post page itself at the time of saving the post? Is there any plugin that can do this?
