• Hi.
I currently have Frontpage 2000 running in XP mode (which uses IIS in the virtual computer). I now want to learn WordPress by installing it on the Windows 7 side.

I have downloaded and unzipped the Server Press Desktop Server Limited and the latest version of WordPress

I think I understand that the Server Press Desktop Server will enable me to preview whatever is created in Word Press locally, similar to the way IIS does with frontpage. Is this correct?

Is there a file within the directory where I unzipped the desktop server that I should be clicking on or other procedure to activate the Desktop Server in preparation for installing Word Press? Also, can I install WordPress without yet having a database? (I have to find out how to convert my access db into a mysql db.

There are other questions I have in relation to changing from a frontpage environment, and if you steer me to an appropriate forum I’d appreciate it. (I don’t want to tie up the wrong forum)

    Thanks,

    Ron
