I just went to go remove 3 plugins from my wordpress install. It would not allow me to remove it from the backend so I deleted it manually and I am now getting this error when trying to access the site:

    Forbidden

I thought I had this problem before and fixed it by re-uploading the plugins with the same folder names. This doesn’t seem to be working this time.

    Any Ideas?

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems (because the hooks remain unless plugins completely removed or some plugins stick around in cached files. So by renaming the folder, you break them and force them inactive).

I tried everything from recreating and uploading the old folder names to manually going through phpMyAdmin and removing all “Active Plugins”. Nothing was working. I had to restore the server from a snapshot backup to the previous day. Thank You for trying to help!
