    I’m using the latest version of the plugin and wp 3.3.1.

    Regardless of the role assigned to a user, when I try and login with a user name and password, a white page with the text Unauthorized Action appears. I also get a permissions error sometimes.

    This happens regardless if I create the user in the admin area or whether the user registers on the site’s front end.

    I urgently need to resolve this as the site has to be live and functional in less than 24hrs.

  • Hi enigma666666,
    Sounds like u are doing something wrong. Check error log file. If empty. Deactivate plugin. Delete and reinstall again.

    Weird – the SAME thing is happening to me. I’ve already deactivated, deleted and re-installed multiple times. Also – the page keeps loading and loading…doesn’t actually take the save most times.

    This happened to me, and for me the solution was to go to AWM Group->Access Manager->Main Menu then uncheck anything under “Dashboard”. Since when a user logs in, they are usually directed to the dashboard, and if it’s restricted then they will get an invalid permissions message

    Hi guys,
    leeviathan is right. Also if user registered on the frontend then the first place where user is redirected in the backend is User Profile. If this page is restricted in Main Menu Tab then User will get the Unauthorized Action message.
    To avoid this issue I’m suggesting to use ConfigPress and configure redirect to frontend or some other admin page.
    As example:
    [backend]
    access.deny.redirect = “http://mydomain.com/home”

    or if u want to specify custom handler:
    [backend]
    access.deny.redirect.userFunc = “backendRedirect”

    Read more about it here : http://whimba.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=4
    or refer to ConfigPress Tab and click to ConfigPress Reference Guide.

    Regards,
    Vasyl

    THank you both for the response. Unfortunately – I have tried both things and I’m still getting the error. Could there be something else wrong?

    Hi jlwest595,
    Click Restore Default button for your Role (yellow arrow).

    Thank you for all the replies. I have tried all the above suggestions to no avail.I have uninstalled and reinstalled many times as well, but I have yet to get this to work without errors.

    Since I have a deadline to meet and have to launch the client’s website by tomorrow morning, I can’t waste any more time on trying to get the plugin to play nice, so I will have to revert back to using role editor plugin instead. A pity as I really like the additional options that seem to come with Advanced Access Manager.

    At a later stage, when I have a bit of spare time, I will install this plugin on one of my test servers and see if I can get the plugin to work.

    Having the same problem. After I deactivated the plug in, everything is fine. I will just have to use another plug in. Any suggestions?

    Having the same problem.
    Any solution in last 6 months?

    I am having this issue too. It happens for me when an Admin (except the Super Admin) tries to delete a post from the list of posts.

    Can delete pages with no issues just the posts. I deactivated, reinstalled and even reset the default settings for the users but it still doesn’t work.

    When the plugin is deactivated or None of the items in the main menu are checked it works.
