• RSS feeds are not working for me. I get the following error.

The XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.

    ——————————————————————————–

End tag ‘dc:creator’ does not match the start tag ‘ADMINNICENAME’. Error processing resource ‘http://example.com/wp-rss2.php’…

    <dc:creator><ADMINNICENAME></dc:creator>

Any idea of what is going on?

    Thanks.

  • What plugins do you have running? What happens if you disable them?

    Thread Starter nsusa

    (@nsusa)

    Adsense Deluxe
    Akismet
    Angsuman’s Referrer Bouncer
    WordPress Database Backup

I deactivated them and still got the same problem.

    Chris

your previous posts here reference atleast two sites — so this is a guess on my part, however this feed, http://www.webhostingreport.net/blog/feed/ looks just fine.

    feeds are cached (heavily).
So if you had a problem, and you disabled plugins to see if one of them was causing a problem you need to do more than simply refresh that page.

close your browser, open your browser, clear your cache, then open the page to the feed.

i fixed this issue pretty easily once i figured out what it meant:

    ADMINNICENAME means no author

make sure you choose an author for your posts. that’ll fix it.

I am running into this same problem with every blog I install on a new server. Not sure what you mean about not having an author name? I can do a fresh install, login with “admin” as the user, do a post, and then look for the feeds and I run into this….

Doing the installs with Fantastico….Will test to see if manual install has same issues.

Ooops. Sorry mimieux. you are exactly right.

A real name has to be put in under the user ID. This differs from version 1.5 which generated the feeds fine even if you didn’t give a real name, but just a username like “admin”.

    Thanks, mimieux!
