   I understand you copy the file to the plugins folder and activate it. but then the plugin (Clena archives plugin for example found here http://www.sporadicnonsense.com/2005/04/28/clean-archives-plug-in/ )
   asks for you to do the following:

   To call the plug-in all you need to do is insert the following string of code where you want the archives to be displayed, ie your sidebar or on a separate archive page:

   srg_clean_archives()

   Can someone please explain how to add it to a new page? I thought you create a new page in wordpress and paste that code there, then create a link to it. If I do that, it shows nothing new except a comment section underneath. Am I creating the wrong type of page?

   you want to look in your theme. do you have a file called archive.php?

   This is where you would put the srg_clean_archives() call.
