    Hello!

I’ve installed and successfully used the Events Calendar in one of my sites, but when I installed it in another site (using the same WordPress theme), it does not show up in the main menu. All the basic functions are available in my Dashboard: I can add and edit events and categories in the left Events sidebar.

However, in the Event Calendar Settings panel, the field to edit the slug is not visible. So for example, I have no way to change the menu tab to “Gigs” instead of Events.” I have installed the most current version of WordPress in a subdirectory on my current site, because I want the current site to stay up while I redesign it in WordPress.

Any ideas why this is not showing up in the main top menu?

By the way, I did enable “Post Name” under Permalink Settings, and now I can view and change the slug, but the Events link is still not showing up in my main homepage menu.

Thanks for the report, skblues. You are correct and have figured out already that you have to turn on permalinks for the slug field to appear.

As for the events not showing up in your homepage menu…you mean the header nav on the frontend of the site, right? If so you will have to add it manually. Go into Appearance –> Menus, configure a header menu if you haven’t already, then find the “Events” section on the page. (You may need to enable it under Screen Options). Click “View All” for events until you see the generic “Events” link, add it to the menu, and save. Your calendar will then be accessible on the frontend from the nav as expected.

Let me know if I’ve misunderstood the issue here and I can adjust my response accordingly.

Yes, right. The Events link is not showing in the header nav. When I used the plugin for the first time on another site, it showed up automatically. I didn’t have to create a custom menu. Now I’m using the exact same theme, just a different URL.

Still, I tried your suggestion, but Events doesn’t show up when I click “View All.” Am I supposed to create a separate page? I am very confused!

Ah, yes, I’ve figured it out now! Thank you!

Glad to hear skblues, let us know if there’s anything else you need with this.
