   Hi I just downloaded a theme that only offered the tar version of it. How do I do this: Simply download and untar on your server in your themes directory (WPROOT/wp-content/themes/)?

   winzip will untar files.

   please forgive my ignorance, but how do I access winzip; is it a free software like wordpress?

   http://www.winzip.com and yes its free (nagware basically)
