facebook like/twitter – no home page option

Hi guys,

Im trying to use a number of different plugins without success.

I only want one of these plugins to show the twitter/facebook like plugin on my homepage….. However all of the ones I have tried even though they have a homepage option like this one (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/twitter-facebook-google-plusone-share/screenshots/) it doesnt show on the homepage but instead decides to show above or below the post.

I want people to like/tweet my homepage when they press the button, at the moment they will be liking http://homepage.com/post1

I’m not a techy, so a simple explanation would be really appreciated.
