Hi,
i get this error
Erreur !: SQLSTATE[HY000] [2013] Lost connection to MySQL server at ‘reading initial communication packet’, system error: 111
What can be the problem ?

Did you try several times ?
This problem may come from your Joomla database server.

@kerfred… please explain how several times will work. I did and it didn’t.

I got:

Erreur !: SQLSTATE[HY000] [2013] Lost connection to MySQL server at ‘reading initial communication packet’, system error: 110

I read this article: http://www.magentocommerce.com/boards/viewthread/7901/
which said to include the mysql server IP.

Dodaddy will not give out that information if you are on a shared server.

@ecarbonated: I ask “Did you try several times ?” because it may come from the MySQL server which is temporary down.

But I think the solution is the opposite of what you said. You mustn’t used the IP address. Instead you must use the DNS name.
