My Pop Culture and Media Education blog disappeared. The username I had became available. Naturally I took it again. I was wondering how my blog could disappear? Can anyone help me?

  • Do you have your own host or are you hosted by wordpress.com?
    If wordpress.com hosted, please visit:

Thanks for responding. My blog was with wordpress. However now when I go to the login screen I doesn’t know me. My blog address was http://jeanette2006.edublogs.org/

I am a very amateur blogger and I have to admit I don’t know much about the workings of hosting a blog. I just followed steps to create mine own on what seemed to be a ‘user-friendly’ site.

I will re-creat it in time if it’s lost. It’s just that it would be nice to find it if it’s floating around the ethernet!!!

I see your blog just fine. So I don’t get what you mean?
Try going to your site and hit Ctrl + F5.
This does a hard refresh on your browser.
Do you see your blog? Or you just can’t login?
Try logging in with username admin and your password?

.. and edublogs has their own support: http://www.edublogs.org/

    Thanks so much!!!!!!!
I really don’t understand why I couldn’t see it before. Prehaps I need to refresh my links. I tell you truthfully, when I tried to update it using my bookmarks it was nowhere to be found. I’ve tried for a few days now-it is truly a mystery to me (however one with a great ending).

Might I add that I commend the cooperative support environment here. I was a little intimidated by the experience (most of which I still don’t understand).

    Many thanks.

All of a sudden my blog is cone again. Could it be that host site (edublogs – I think) goes down periodically?

I’d definitely check with them as it would seem likely!

Yes, everything is possible, but please understand this forum has nothing to do with blogs hosted on edublogs.
We deal only with self-hosted blogs that use the script downloaded from here.

For free hosted blogs (using the MU=multi user) version of WP, please contact your host/provider.
    Thank you.

Thanks everyone…with this information I’m learning a little about what can happen (or what might happen that you don’t expect to happen) and where to go for support. I’m also learning not to panic!

Although I see that the responsibility rests elsewhere I’m thankful for the kind and friendly guidance I’ve found here.

    Kudos to all of you!

    Many thanks again 🙂

I have read all of these posts and I am still unable to get the information that I need. I realize that WordPress is not associated with edublogs or learnerblogs, but it is a WordPress message that appears when I type in http://edublogs.org. This is the only contact information I am provided. Just last week I created a learnerblog account for 130 students in my English classes. We spent a great deal of curricular time doing this. Now, the site is non-functional. I have no idea if and when it will be back up, and I have curriculum to plan and computer labs to reserve for next week. Is there anyone out there who can tell me what is going on. Will edublogs and learnerblogs be back on line ever? Did I make a big mistake trying to incorporate technology into my classroom?

but it is a WordPress message that appears when I type in http://edublogs.org. This is the only contact information I am provided.

And a very unfortunate default message it is, eh? But true: We have no association with edublogs. We can’t speak for ’em. We can’t solve their problems. They’re running software from http://mu.wordpress.org/ and we don’t support that here either. Fun stuff.

Will edublogs and learnerblogs be back on line ever?
    No clue.

Did I make a big mistake trying to incorporate technology into my classroom?

    That sounded like eeyore.

We don’t know the answer to any of your questions. The reason you see the link to this forum is because the site principal for edublogs didn’t bother to customize the information you need – whether due to laziness, inattention to detail, or on purpose, we wouldn’t be able to say.

Again, I repeat: edublogs.org whoever they may be were simply using an open-source, free blog software version of wordpress to set up a multi-user blogging system. That wordpress “version” is downloadable by anyone in this world from mu.wordpress.org.

WordPress.org is not involved with nor responsible for the situation with edublogs.org. I’m sorry you are having these issues, but sympathy is absolutely all we can give you here.
