I have a theme conflict with Gravity Forms that I can not diagnose and am hoping for some help from the forum gurus. My theme is a highly modified Piano Black. The problem is that the form’s “Submit” button does not react when clicked. The form works in Twenty-Ten and it also works in Gravity Form’s preview mode so it’s definitely some sort of theme conflict. I’m stuck. If you have ideas, please let me know. The form can be found at: http://vit-sandbox.com/forms/try-it/. Thanks so much!!

    Hi there,

I had serious issues with my theme and GF as well. In fact, GF did not appear on my pages at all. It was so frustrating, but it turned out that theme’s jquery was outdated!
Now Piano Black was last modified/updated 2010-06-06 (just like my theme) so I think that could be the issue here. Once I updated my theme’s jquery to 1.7 min.js GF started working with no problems. Try and copy/paste 1.7 to your 1.4 – hope it will help. Find new version at jquery.com/download.

    …best

Thank you BiancoBellucci! I updated my jquery to 1.7 and also pulled a line from the header.php (<script type=”text/javascript” src=”/wp-content/themes/vi/js/jscript.js”></script>). It’s working now which is great. Lots of testing to do though to make sure that line isn’t missed anywhere. If you have any other tips/insights on this, please let me know… thanks!

update: the header.php (<script type=”text/javascript” src=”/wp-content/themes/vi/js/jscript.js”></script>) line drives the drop-down menu functionality so I need it. It needs to be in the header.php (I guess). Can someone please help me figure out what to do so that the Submit button will work on my GF and my drop-down menus will work? Form is at http://vit-sandbox.com/forms/try-it/. Thanks!

I see it’s still not working.

Did you try to install “Use Google Libraries” plugin?

I tried the “Use Google Libraries” plugin but all of the JQuery functions in my theme stopped working so I turned it off. I followed some advice to simplify the dropdown menus but that did not help. All of the gravity forms are working except the one mentioned here which uses a redirect. I am really puzzled but not giving up. Any more ideas welcome! Thanks for following me on this…

similar problem. i have Conditional Logic in 2 of my forms. If I switch off the CL the form displays. if i switch it on, the form disappears. i did a plugin test and there were no conflicts. finally checked the theme and sure enough that was the where the problem was. so i have to figure out what’s wrong with my theme to cause the forms not to load with CL. i’m using a child theme of Whiteboard framework.

i’m thinking this is related to jquery. so i’m prepared to spend the day trying to sort it, only problem is i’m an absolute retard at java and don’t really know what i’m doing. i did the tutorials in the codex but that hasn’t seemed to solve anything… but that was a week or 2 ago so im gonna give it another bash.

Hi Olly – My conflict was in my JQuery menus that were part of the Piano Black theme. I gave up on them and replaced my menus using the PixoPoint Menu plug-in. Everything works great now. Good luck!

i’ve been reading this article: http://wp.tutsplus.com/articles/how-to-include-javascript-and-css-in-your-wordpress-themes-and-plugins/

seems to be the way to do things. still feeling very retarded about all this jquery stuff though.

thanks nrdgrl. i sorted it. that article i mentioned had this code snipit in it.

    http://pastie.org/3957149

i just pasted that into my functions.php and voila. im sure i’ve still left behind loads of obsolete java bits but this code just sorted my problem. safe.

and promptly conflicted with jquery collapse-o-matic.

i have started a new post here: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/jquery-collapse-o-matic-gravity-forms-conflict?replies=1
