One page not showing up in dropdown menu of page template

Hello

I had the problem where my template drop down menu wasn’t showing at all when I tried to add a page, however I resolved this by switching my theme on and off again and the drop down menu appeared, but the latest page template I have developed isn’t showing up in it. The php code at the top is correct…

*/
?>

I’ve tried changing existing page templates names to see if they’ll show and they won’t. Any ideas what to do? Is there a maximum number of custom pages you can have?
