There’s not a way to just integrate it into the existing plugin. It’d probably be better as a different plugin with similar functionality, only listing authors.

Hmmm, okay. I do have “Top Commentators Widget” (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/top-commentators-widget/), any idea how I might break up the list into 2 columns? I suppose I should ask its developer, shouldn’t I 😉

    Thanks for the response.

I guess what I was saying is that I can look into making it. I just don’t have the time right now.

That’s no problem. Only if you if you have the free time or whatnot.

However, with some jQuery and code that displays a list of authors by post count (http://pastebin.com/bjrYdgyW), I was able to make a custom widget and split the author list into two columns, but it doesn’t wrap each column into a <div>, like your plugin does, so I can’t style it properly to match my theme.

How difficult would it be to split my list and wrap each column in a <div>? Could the “splitting and wrapping in a div” part be used from your plugin and applied to my list somehow?

For anyone interested in displaying top authors by post count in two columns, I figured it out: http://pastebin.com/FMhtvELc You can stick it in a plugin, widget, sidebar, etc.
