I have a site I am designing in which I would like to use WP to help make it dynamic. I don't know a lot of php, though it should be fairly simple.

I would like the first post's title and the post itself to display on a page with not much formatting... just the post title and the post... no headers, footers, sidebars, etc. I DO want to be able to alter the background color thourgh CSS and the text formatting through CSS. i don't care what them it uses as I don't really want that formatting.

I'm sure this would be pretty simple for most experienced people here.

    Thanks,
    Joe

It would be pretty simple for most experienced people in terms of the knowledge and know-how, however it would be slightly time-consuming, as you'd have to essentially remove all the other things a given theme would come with standard.

I'm curious though, you wouldn't want any navigation at all? Just a post? Why then the need for "dynamic", and why the need for wordpress at all? If that's the case, why not just create a basic HTML page with your "content", and change it out as desired? You could keep your previous "posts" in a word document if you wanted to retain them.

I'm just not understanding your ultimate goal here - maybe if you could explain in more detail the purpose you have in mind, someone might be able to offer a suggestion or some help.
