I’ve checked the forums, read quite a bit of documentation but can’t quite work this one out still.

On my webhost I have several folders (subdirectories) with their own wordpress installs in each. So for example, a site is at mywebhost.com/website.com.
I point the nameservers at the subdirectory with the webhost and change the site URL in WordPress so an end viewer will only see “www.website.com”.

However, when I load a picture in Media Library and insert it into a post it will always have the full URL (mywebhost.com/website.com/image-url).
It doesn’t look professional if someone clicks on the image.
For now I’ve just been taking out the URL but I’d like to have all elements for the site with the proper URL.

Before the site went live I tried changing WordPress URL; the site crashed. Now that the site is live I’m nervous to try stuff like that; I tried it on a sandbox site I set up and I couldn’t log back in.

    Thanks for that.

I have already read that a few times, and used it for other issues I’ve had, but still don’t quite understand which part of it can help me with this issue.

How come my posts and pages have the correct URL but images don’t?

If you could direct me to the most relevant part in that Codex I’d really appreciate it.
