    I have a static homepage for the blog I’m building. Would NOT like the daily blogs to appear on the Home (first) page. Currently, at the bottom of my Home Page, are the words “Recent Posts”. Of course, each time I post a blog, it appears there, which is what I don’t want. Moreover, this isn’t a widget that I’ve inserted (as near as I can tell). Is there something I can do to remove the command to post “recent posts” on this page only? I am a “total neophyte” and am learning this as I go. Your prompt reply is appreciated. Thanks.
    Mark

    Hi alchymyth:

    Thank you for your quick reply. My theme is Twenty Eleven, and the site is http://www.wrapyourbat.com. Your suggestions are really appreciated.

    can’t see any ‘recent posts’ – have you changed the page to the default template from the ‘showcase’ template?

    before you make any edits, create a child theme to work with http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes – do not edit Twenty Eleven directly as an unedited default theme is needed in case of problems with your site.

    after the child theme is active, edit showcase.php within your child theme and remove the full section beginning with:
    <section class="recent-posts">
    to:
    </section><!-- .recent-posts -->
    both inclusive.

    Thanks you , that worked great.
