Please, if you could help us out with this, it would be an amazingly great help. I've been struggling with this all week, and I'll reward anyone who helps me resolve this with a post on our site about how awesome you are.
Since upgrading to 2.0.3, we get this error on our Dashboard, when trying to upload images, and when trying to publish a post that has apostrophes (') quotations (") or the phrase "David Hasselhoff" in it. (The David Hasselhoff part is a joke. The rest, unfortunately, is not.)
Here's the error, with profanity edited. You know how MySQL can have a filthy mouth:
---------------BEGIN ERROR---------------------
WordPress database error: [You have an error in your motherf**cking SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'Happenstance in the mothaf**kin\' house!
And just for good measure, l' at line 4]
INSERT IGNORE INTO wp_posts (post_author, post_date, post_date_gmt, post_content, post_content_filtered, post_title, post_excerpt, post_status, comment_status, ping_status, post_password, post_name, to_ping, pinged, post_modified, post_modified_gmt, post_parent, menu_order, post_mime_type) VALUES ('3', '2006-06-16 14:08:27', '2006-06-16 20:08:27', '
Okay, that worked. But what if we add some apostrophes and quotes in the mix?
Lil\' Happenstance in the mothaf**kin\' house!
-------------------END ERROR-----------------------
I've tried other forum posts that recommend removing whitespace from various files, no luck. I've tried deleting my wordpress directory entirely and reinstalling a clean copy. No dice.
Can anyone please help us break the WordPress Apostrophe, Quotation, and David Hasselhoff Curse? Seriously!?!?!
Should we just switch back to an older version of WordPress? Or did something go wrong during the 2.0.3 database upgrade?
Thanks in advance for your help and your time.
