• Hi guys, i’m new here.
I’ve a big trouble to solve in my mind.
I would like to open a site in wich include noah’s classifieds or something similar where university’s students can posts their ads. But i don’t like to give them only this.
I would like to create also a home page in wich post the last cooler ads and some news.
A month ago, i tried both joomla and wordpress and it seems to me that wordpress could be better to admin, easier and smaller.
Some of you have an idea to help me, please?
I don’t know what to do?
    Wordpress or Joomla?
If your suggestion is “wordpress”, how can i integrate a classifier like noah’s in wordpress?
    Thank you a lot.
    Bye

  • Forget about joomla, it’s not that it’s not a good product or community, it’s just not going to do what you need it to.

check out http://www.xoops.org that’s the right cms for what you’re looking to do, there are modules available to provide all of the functions you’re looking for, including a port of wordpress 2.xx as a module for the blogging portion.

It might be a good idea to give us an example of the web site you want to copy. As for Joomla vs. WordPress, what features does Joomla offer that can’t be done in WordPress? If WordPress offers all the features you want, and you believe it’s easier to manager, then the choice is obvious.

    Hi,

I am a graphic/web designer and have recently been introduced to CMS’s and blogging,

I was wondering if WordPress can be used to build traditional web sites with a top level navigation and a sub navigation. With the option of adding a blog. It seems that Joomla can do this but I like the simple interface and feel of WordPress, but I’m not sure which to use either, any comments would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
