[Plugin: WPeMatico 0.85] External images not being cached / errors

    Hi,
    I’m using WPeMatico to import posts from a WordPress.com blog via RSS. I have the “Cache Images” and “Attach Images to posts” features enabled, but when it pull the article, it errors on the image upload with the following messages;

    There are only two images in the feed, but as you can see, it also adds a lot of other files to the media library. In the end, neither image file are correctly uploaded and I get a lot of junk files in my Media Library. Though, the images do happen to fall back to the external location, so it still works. I just really want the images to be imported, so that I can use one of them as the “featured image” for the post (using Auto Featured Image plugin).

    I’ve googled the mess out of this and checked the plugin page, but haven’t found anyone else with this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Not sure what those errors are but I installed and ran the ‘Auto Post Thumbnail’ plugin when my homepage thumbs were not being generated (while the post page were). That worked for me.

    Not sure if it will help or not but worth mentioning?!

    Looks like your narfed your uploader. Did you change out your upload functions with an upload replacement plugin lately? I’d check that.

    I’ve used that one and currently using an “auto featured image” plugin that will set the first image in a post as the featured image. Unfortunately, it seems to only work on images in the media library versus those linked from another server. My idea was to have this wpematico cache the images and then the featured image plugin would likely work.

    It’s a fairly new install of WP and the only plugin I’ve installed that might have effected upload would be “image pro” which allowed drag and drop image placement to post edits from the desktop. Though, it was just a plugin that, as far as I can tell, didn’t overwrite the current function. It didn’t seem quite ready for prime time, though, so I uninstalled it. Any idea of how I might be able to restore that service, if it is indeed narfed? Manual uploading works great, fwiw.
