• I just had a friend come to me and wonder why the services he has available to him on the official WordPress JetPack plugin are so few.

He points me to 2 blogs of people that he’d be surprised if they could generate these buttons themselves, but they’re on “WordPress” – [one of them is] on WordPress.com.

I don’t have a .com blog to go play with right this second, but why are there so few services in this implementation of ShareDaddy and why am I having this good-for-very-little version of ShareDaddy being shoved down my throat with the *** Jetpack?

What am I missing here… because this isnot just the Vista of WordPress, it’s the ME of WordPress. It can’t be that screwed up that the plugin that gets shoved down my throat covers 5 social media services.

The more I try to figure out an alternate plugin… and the more I look at the plugin available to .com users….. this is unbelievably frustrating!

We realize the two experiences with Sharing options are wildly different between Jetpack and WordPress.com. One of our goals with an upcoming release of Jetpack is to make the two experiences as identical as possible. I don’t have an ETA on when that will happen, but it is on our roadmap to do so.

Thanks very much for your feedback! 🙂
