Set images to interlaced with plugin / code?

I’m looking for some kind of plugin etc. to set the uploaded images to interlaced mode.

I know there’s the imageinterlace PHP function but I have no idea how to integrate this into wordpress.

Is there any way to automatically set the images to interlaced?
