My “Page Templates” tab disappeared | WordPress.org

I was going to create a new page using a page template but I noticed the whole tab was gone.

Any ideas?

If you have only the default (page.php) template the tab doesn’t show up. It might also be that you think there is another template but WP doesn’t “see” it because it is missing the mandatory lines at the top.
