    Hi everyone i have read as much multisite literature as i can and think i understand how everything works but want to just run this past anyone with a bit more experience to just check that i have things correct.

    I want to have a site with the following structure;

    Structure

    Main Site
    |
    Subdomain 1     -    Subdomain 2
    |
    user blog (parent Subdomain1)

    can someone please give this the eye over and tell me of any limitations i should be aware of. Am i right in thinking that I need multiple networks (because of the user blog) adding an extra layer or can you just create another child site from a subdomain child.

    Any input or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks

    You can use a MultiNetwork plugin to make a second blog off of Subdomain1, but … you get that Subdomain1 is a blog, in and of itself, right?

    Thanks, yeah i did know that and plan to use that functionality. The user blog is basically the boss of that branch is keen to have his own section (with its own menus/ slight changing of styling and such) i am trying not to add thousands more plugins which i know the styling issue could be solved with a plugin.

    I will already using domain mapping so have just thought could the user blog really be ‘Subdomain 3’ that just looks like it is part of subdomain 2?

    Thanks again for your help

    Sure you can do that. You could also use Custom Post-Types off Subdomain1 depending on what URL format you need for your ‘blog.’
