• LOVE this plug-in – thank you! It’s a god send. ๐Ÿ™‚

Does anyone out there know how I can change the search results page from the Blog Archives to my Products Page?

Right now I am querying custom post type – “Products” and the search results show up in the Archive. I want the search result to show my Products List instead.

I saw scribu talk about a possible redirect function I could put in my function file. Can anyone help with this?

    THANKS IN ADVANCE!

  • Hi alexluchini,
I’m trying to do the same thing: change the results page.
    Did you find the solution?

    Thanks

    Hi,

I actually did end up finding a solution and unfortunately I don’t remember what it was. For other reason I ended up abandoning this project entirely. My apologies I couldn’t be more helpful.

I seem to remember it was actually something pretty straightforward though. The plug-in uses the Archives page as template and I believe there is a template hierarchy for the results page. I am not sure anymore. Good luck!

    Thank you alex.
If I’ll find a solution I’ll post it.

    Ciao!

When you add a custom taxonomy to a WordPress theme, you can display its content using one of WordPressโ€™ taxonomy theme templates.

I am using the query multiple taxonomies plugin to display search results from a custom taxonomy called “usage” and was running into the same problem. I was able to create “taxonomy-usage.php” to display my results.

I just figured this out and am in the process of customizing my template still but you can see my custom template is pulling results from the custom search. Check it out here.
