• I have a simple bowling league website that I would like to make more appealing… http://www.fugmagen.com (i am currently trying to edit the background images so i know they don’t look good) but I have been reading and viewing plenty of the WordPress sites here in these forums and I am impressed!

I guess I am having issues with what a blog is I guess… I would like to convert over to one of the WordPress themes (Twenty Eleven, Piano Black, Greyzed, and Freshy to name a couple that I like)… but here is the question… and bare with me as I might not explain it correctly…

When People log onto my site I went them to see the “blog” stuff that I have written up about the news, pictures and events pertaining to the league and upcoming tournaments and such and then have my links up top as usual. (like I see on all the sites in here) if I change my theme from what I have now say and someone clicks on my site they get “nothing found” that is where I want I guess my “blogging” to go! So I am not sure how to do this… static page not a static page… do I have to set up a “blog” page as a static page? I know that I am close and pretty good at figuring things out but this one issue I can’t seem to get figured out…for now i have a page link called “the wall” that is where anyone can post a comment, but I want my own “blog” as my home page… I am not even sure what I am doing wrong! If this makes any sense to anyone?

3/8/12 4:27pm est…just an update I switched the theme to the twenty-ten theme

    Thanks
    Dave

  • WordPress has Posts and Pages. I would recommend you use Pages for static content that is not time sensitive or date related. Use Posts for writing time sensitive content that can be date sorted. I’m not an expert with the Twenty Eleven theme but I believe it should by default show a list of the latest Posts you have written. You may need to write a Post to see anything listed on your homepage.

Widelgger… Thanks for the response, but, and I hope this is not a dumb question, but where or how do I write a post so that it shows up on my home page?

    Thanks again for responding…
