I'm using WordPress for a local community activist website, and we're using the user registration system to have people sign up as members. We'll be sending them occasional email alerts, letting registered users comment on things, etc.
But I'd like people to be able to remove themselves if they want, so they can stop receiving our email alerts if they want.
Is there any way that low-level users (Subscriber Role) can delete their own accounts? If not, how might I go about enabling that for them?
If there's not a link on their profile page (I don't kno, actually, I haven't checked), I don't think they can. But you might ask them to update their email addresses to something like unsubscribe at damek dot org or maybe even deleteaccount at damek dot org.
Dear Moderator: I just thought, those email addresses, though fake, might be picked up by spambots and if there's a catchall system at Damek's domain, spam will get through. I'd edit the post myself, but too much time has elapsed. Thanks!
