Unusually,
Wordpress is suddenly EXTREMELY slow when it comes to reaching the dashboard.
Everything else is fine, but when it tries to go to the dashboard page it takes 5 minutes to completely load.
I've tried IE, FF, and Opera.
I'm sure it's not the host because the Dashboard loads fine on another blog with the same host.
Any suggestions?
It's slow for all of us because it's checking the latest developer blog posts that you see at the bottom of the screen.
You could always just get rid of it. :)

oh really? Thanks for that tip, I'll go to that link and try to sort t.
However the odd thing is that my other blogs don't have an issue and load fast (less than a second)
it's just this one blog that takes 5-10 mins

From the plugins DB, X-Dashboard works great and does not remove the dashboard. Very easy and quick fix.
Yeah, that's probably a better solution for most people. Thanks for pointing it out.

I've tried X-Dashboard.
I disabled everything and activated them one by one to find the problem.
It was the 'display incoming links' that was the culprit.
I wonder why.
Technoratti has some very slow days lately.
I use this and disable the feeds, runs MUCH faster.
