to one that does not have /blog in it and every time I try and save changes I get…

    Page not found
The page you are looking for might have been removed,
had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.
    Please try the following:

If you typed the page address in the Address bar, make sure that it is spelled correctly.

    – Click the Back button in your browser to try another link.
    – Use a search engine like Google to look for information on the Internet.
HTTP 404 – File not found

    What gives?

Furthermore, I can’t even login to my page under Admin without getting the same message

That didn’t work. I have also e-mailed my domain provider to see if they can help. Basically, if I just download to my domain name with a /blog subdirectory it works fine. But I really don’t want users to have to type in the /blog part. It seems like it should be simple but I think I’ve tried every “fix” with no luck so far.

I had the same issue when I installed the first time as I wasnt completely sure what I wanted to happen. When I chose the install directory i typed “blog” in the block (using fantastico on hostgator). When I realized the same thing you did I changed mine. To do so I copied the entire WP folder them used fantastico to uninstall and then reinstall in the root directory. I then copied over the new install with the copied WP folder from before.

This may be able to be done without copying the whole thing and just copying the theme folder but I wasnt completely sure what happened during the install and if i needed it to write to any other files on my host.

Thanks for this but I don;t think I am following…

You initially created the files in your /blog folder. Then you uninstalled it and re-installed it in your root directory. I think I got that part.

@bdub83: It is impolite to interrupt another poster’s thread with a question of your own. Please post your own topic.

Sorry – it’s forum policy. It is extremely difficult for forum volunteers to try and help more than 1 person at a time in any given topic.
