• Hi there,

I just wanted to point out an issue that has caused me to disable the plug-in for the time being as all the required functionality can be (though not ideally) be achieved through the use of multiple plug-ins.

Before installing the Simple Facebook Connect plug-in, I was currently using Social Graph Pro plug-in to fill in the og:meta-data for page types. Having checked the source code, this plug-in neatly and cleanly inputs the appropriate og:code with the appropriate Facebook App ID/Facebook User ID/Facebook page Id. However, when I activate the Social Graph Pro plug-in, I get an excessive repetition of the og:image & link rel properties in the header, which makes for ugly code.

    For example:

[Code moderated as per the Forum Rules. Please use the pastebin]

It would be nice to be able to specify in the Settings of the plug-in whether another og-plug-in is active and, if that is indeed the case, to then disable the specific post element og: tags that Simple Facebook Connect inserts. Or to allow for a more robust insertion of the og: elements via the Post Edit Screen in a similar manner to one of the other Facebook og: plug-ins.

As it is now I had to disable the plug-in because of the excessive link rel insertion, which was bloating my code.

Otherwise, I very much like this plug-in. I would also like to see the storing of Facebook Comments in the WordPress User Database, as other users have requested.

I have no plans to make the OpenGraph handling optional. You can disable it in the SFC code if you want, although I don’t recommend it.

Storing Facebook comments is problematic from a terms of service standpoint. I’m still considering how to implement it properly while remaining within FB’s guidelines.

    Hey Otto,

Where in the code can I disable the OG Tags? Could you please provide some guidance?

Also, can you help explain why the plug-in is putting in such an excessive amount of og: image/link rel inserts? There were twenty or so. It seemed the plug-in was looping them?

To clarify: I only want to disable the og: post-type code, NOT the FB App ID.
