I use Woocommerce alongside with Network Publisher. I’d like to use Network Publisher to post new articles and products to twitter and facebook and promote my webshop. It works as advertised in the most common setups.

However with woocommerce there is a critical issue resulting in my orders being published to all configured social networks. This is a big issue and I might have to shut the publisher off entirely before i can launch my shop.

Woocommerce appears to store orders similarly to the way like a wordpress post is stored. Overall it handles this correctly so they don’t appear in my post lists and are not accessible by any url outside of the wp-admin backend (result is 404).

The best solution for me would be that Network Publisher adds an option for me to set publishing inactive by default. I will then manually set the checkbox whenever i post a blogpost or product.

Any suggestions or workarounds will be very much appreciated!

Btw what it posts when an order is saved a link like this:

    Order March 2, 2012 @ 02:07 PM

  • For wordpress posts and page, the plugin adds a widget to the editor – http://help.linksalpha.com/wordpress-plugin-network-publisher/network-publisher-widget – using which you can enable disable publishing. I am not sure if this widget is showing up in your woocommerce editor. Also, from the plugin settings, you can enable/disable publishing. You can disable publishing and then enable it later, and then go back to your post and click on “Update” button of your woocommerce post, and it should get published at that point of time.

What I mean are not the reqular blog posts i write and publish with a click. They are sent to my social network profiles as desired which is why i use linksalpha in the first place.

What causes issues is woocommerce orders. These are saved automatically as a (hidden) blog post. One has no control over when this happens and how. I cannot go and toggle a setting like you suggest.

So either I find a fix or the linksalpha plugin needs to be turned off permanently 🙁
