• Something has happened to the site i´m working with. All of a sudden an Ajax function stopped working. The request says ‘404 – file not found’ even though the file is in file tree. If I try to access an .html file I get access to it though. The site works as it should otherwise.

The last thing that I changed on the site was that I installed and activated the W3 Total Cache plugin. I have since then uninstalled it and removed all the files and the additions by W3TC to the .htaccess file and the wp-config.php file.

Any ideas what I should try next?

  • How did you make your AJAX calls? This kind of issue isn’t that common and probably all you needed to do is add the script to the “never cache the following pages” box on the page cache settings tab or simply disable page caching until you figured out the root of the issue.
