[Plugin: Share and Follow] Reordering Follow Widget icons

    First, I want to say that this plugin is fantastic – the best social plugin I’ve used/tried – GREAT WORK, Andy! Many thanks!

    Ok, I know this has been covered before in this forum, but not recently – and all previous posts aren’t leading me to the solution.

    Basically, I want to reorder the icons in the standard Follow Widget. I see previous posts that reference changing the order in the array in the share-and-follow.php file. I *think* I’ve done this correctly, but it doesn’t seem to have any effect on the widget. I can only assume that I’ve got the wrong array – I dunno… Several folks out there have been successful doing this – so I know it should work if I can get it done correctly.

    Can someone please point me to the correct array that is controlling the order of the icons in the Follow Widget?

    I only use G+, FB and Twitter – they are currently by alpha – but I want to list G+ first…

    Any help, even a vague suggestion, would be hugely appreciated!

    sadly you have to re-order them by knowing how php arrays work. There is an array inside the file allsites.php this is in the order that they will be represented on the site. Just cut and paste to get them in the order you want. Watchout though as its all very computer code.

    Its something that I will be changing in time but not for now.

    Hi, Andy! Thanks, so much for your rapid response – you have got to be one of the most attentive developers in the WordPress community!

    This is great help – I do understand php arrays and have been able to find it in the allsites.php file. I reordered them how I need them and it’s all working great!

    My issue was that I was referencing a previous thread on this same topic, which indicated that the array was located in the share-and-follow.php file – once I looked in the allsites.php file for the arrays, I had this done in 2-minutes!

    GREAT plugin – I will gladly give a donation to help keep you going!

    thanks loads for the donations, it keeps my young son in nappies 🙂

    yeah things change over time, first I had it in a file called items, then there was a change to wordpress that stopped that being called and used as a global variable, then I moved it into the share-and-follow.php but that got a bit to large in the way of management/easy coding. So this time I moved it into a file called allsites as well I fancied a better name than items.

    As I said I will be changing this in future to make it more usable, it’s just a matter of time. I am thinking about making a V2 of the plugin that is so much more GUI based, but have to really analise and maybe learn a few tricks first to get it where I want it to be. However all that said, what is there at the moment is very usable and does not get me many support tickets, so is working well. decisions decisions, what a luxury.
