  • Light green for the font color. Complements yellow well.

    Not sure about the link color (personally I think the light green would clash with the orange crayon underline, which is awesome btw).
    I would advise, though, a way to avoid the text tucking under the flower.
    And I’ve found http://lipsum.com to be exceedingly useful in generating dummy text for testing designs.

    thanks, i tried the green and it was a bit much… i like the text tucking under the flower… at least for now. it would look nice to have the text over the flower but i dont know how.

    My only comment — I’m not a fan of the background pattern being visible underneath text I am reading.

    I think the transparency is okay, looks to be about 80%. To get the text to show up above the flower, you would set a z-index element on the flower and then set a higher z-index on the class used for the text. Google “css z-index” for some tutorials (w3schools is always good).
