• I inherited this site at work. There are many pages on it that were created a couple years ago, in which the permalinks for them are fine. But now they don’t seem to be working correctly.

When I create a new page (titled “newpage”) at http://mycoolsite.gov and make it a child of “mother”, the url that is automatically generated is http://mycoolsite.gov/newpage rather than http://mycoolsite.gov/mother/newpage.

Does anyone know why? In other my other wordpress sites, the parent shows up just fine in the permalink. And it used to work on this one!

    My permalink structure is “/%category%/%postname%/”

Do you want to see my htaccess file?

I suppose I should upgrade to the latest version of wordpress. I’m a little worried about some of the plugins not working…

    Thanks!

Still looking for a resolution here. Any help would be very appreciated!

Also, why in the “About this Topic” section in the sidebar of this post does it say, “Started 4 days ago by nikeonsale”?

    Upgrading WordPress fixed my issue!

I was updating from 2.8.6 to the latest. I used the xclone plugin to back everything up. It’s the only one I could find that worked!

(Still weird to me how this post says it was started by “nikeonsale”. That sounds like someone has switched my profile name somehow…)
