• I thought i saw a post related to this one a while back but for some reason any search i perform on wordpress.org turns up no results.

I have an occasional problem where when i try to upload an image, inline-uploading.php wants to download when i click “upload”, and a thumbnail doesn’t get created – this file, if i actually download it, is blank. Same thing occurs on occasion with post.php. – at the moment, both are trying to download.
The strange thing is the file does get uploaded, and the post does get saved, but they do not continue on to the next page as normal, and like i said with the image upload, no thumbnail is created.

I have tried disabling plugins, and since this problem isn’t always present, i’m not sure what to suspect. Do file permissions affect this? server issue? or wordpress?

    Thanks!

  • I see this on my blog and many other blogs and even non-blogs. I click Cancel then retry and all I’m putting it down to is the Firefox version 1.5.0.3
    Could be wrong ..

Hmm, it does make sense because i wasn’t having this problem until upgrading to FF 1.5+, maybe once or twice before but it was a plugin that caused it. Still though, could it be a header that isn’t set right on the response in wordpress?

EDIT: i just tried in IE, and while i didn’t get the file download dialog, nothing else happened after the image upload completed and then i got a “the page cannot be displayed – currently unnavailable” in the upload box, but the image was uploaded, again with no thumbnail. strange

I had a similar problem, and it was caused by insufficient memory in php.ini, I set the max memory a script can consume up to 32MB from 8MB and now it works fine.
