The editing would be in a core file and you’d need to know what form of mail system your host uses to the alter the code.

I am hosting WP in my server myself.

I also have the same problem. I setup WP in February and several emails were sent to new users.. but now, after setting up a couple of users.. no email is being sent, even though they get the “created successfully, password was sent” message.

I need to edit SMTP port and what is the file to edit in WP???
Search through all the worpress files. Get a good file editor like notepad++ that lets you search through multiple files.
Also check the codex for some information, that might be able to help you.

There is not a smtp settings in any WP files.

I found the anser myself.
It was PHP.INI file to edit.
