How to reduce number of widget columns?

    My theme allows the display of widgets in the footer. However, since there are four columns, I can’t center my widgets right in the middle of the footer. How can I accomplish this? The only way I can think of is to reduce the number of columns to one. Is this possible? Here’s my footer.php file:
