• My dashboard is giving me this error:

“ERROR: The themes directory is either empty or doesn’t exist”

However, the Themes directory does exist, I see it on the server, and the directory permissions are set to 755. I can also upload themes just fine and activate them… however when I go to my
Appearance->Themes area, under Current Theme, it doesn’t have one listed and the BY field is blank as well.

So it’s there but it’s not there?

I just installed a fresh version of WordPress (3.3.1) over an existing database. The files were hacked but the database was fine. Prior to reinstalling the WP files I didn’t have this problem. Since the old theme was corrupt I’ve installed a new theme.

    I’d love help thanks!

    Hi
Did you resolve this? I’m getting the ‘ERROR: The themes directory is either empty or does not exist” message and am unsure what to do.

    Thanks!

I have changed hosts… I wasn’t able to resolve it on my prior host. However, moving all the files to the new host, the message is gone. I don’t know why, they just copies the files *shrug*.
