I’ve just enabled the MS feature on my dedicated blog domain, I’ve followed all the instructions. I’ve created a * subdomain. The mod_rewrite is enabled, according to Just Host.

Now, the blog on shawton.com appears fine, but my new testblog.shawton.com takes me to a parked page, as if there’s no site there at all!

Can anyone please suggest where I maybe going wrong?! I’ve double checked I have followed the proceedure correctly, I just cannot see why it’s showing me that the site’s not there!

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Ask your webhost if that’s allowed.

Ask them what? By all accounts I should be able to use WP MS on a sub-domain install, with them.

Sorry, ask them if WILDCARD subdomains are allowed. And how to set it up on their server. Every server and host is a bit different.

Ta very much for that. I just called them and apparently the *.shawton.com was listed in the wrong directory; i.e. public_html/wildcard instead of public_html/shawton. The issue has now been sorted, so I can now start creating new blogs :0).
