Is there an image slider which works with the latest version of WordPress?

I have been testing a lot of WordPress image sliders for my client to use in his website, and something is always wrong with them. For example one image slider didn’t load the images at all, only displayed the controls and not the images. Could someone please tell me if there a free image slider available for WordPress which works? I need the image slider to be able to display without the controls – that is what my clients wants.
