There are several plugins that allow you to set options per page. For example: “Custom Widgets”. It allows you to decide which widgets show on which page, without any coding.

On my website I use roughly 30 plugins to enhance my WordPress. (not that much according to some users).
This means that wp_head gives a list of about 20 extra things to load.
several NGGallery files, several SEO tags, a flash plugin etc.etc.etc.

But I don’t use all these things on every page. In fact, i’ve only got 3 pages in which i use NGGallery. And only 1 with the flash plugin.
But still, it loads via wp_head on every page. Making my pages load slow because of increased size.

Why isn’t there a plugin/option that gives you the option to choose which plugins get loaded into wp_head for every single page. (just like “custom widgets” does with widgets).

It could increase loadtime on every page, decrease bandwidth usage and might even help with plugins that conflict with eachother (but are not used on the same page).

I am very curious to read the reactions to this.

    Cheers, Vinnie.

I believe that’s actually something that should be written into the plugin, and not WP. WP doesn’t know where you want things, only where you tell it things.

you could be right about that ipstenu.
i must say that i’m not very good with php, so i don’t fully understand wordpress.

is there a part of this forum where i can give people ideas on a plugin?
to be honest, i really don’t understand why there isn’t a plugin like this yet.
more people should’ve come up with an idea like this… (??)
